There are provided an insect-resistant protein exhibiting asufficient resistance to insects even in a small amount; aninsect-resistance gene encoding said insect-resistantprotein; a recombinant vector containing saidinsect-resistance gene; a host cell and a plant cell having therecombinant vector transferred thereinto; a transformanttransformed by the insect-resistance gene and a method forproducing the same; a protein recovered thereby; and aninsect-resistant agent comprising them as active ingredients.In accordance with the present invention, the insect-resistantprotein derived from a plant, comprises a first amino acidsequence having a 50% or more homology with the amino acidsequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 in Sequence Listing, asecond amino acid sequence having a 50% or more homology withthe amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 in SequenceListing and a third amino acid sequence having a 50% or morehomology with the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:3in Sequence Listing, wherein the second amino acid sequence hasat least one spppp sequence.
