The present invention relates to the use of Alu-retrotransposon-based vectors for gene therapy, in particular cancer gene therapy. The invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising such Alu-retrotransposon-based vectors and gene therapy methods for treating a cancer patient using an Alu-retrotransposon vector, or a pharmaceutical composition thereof.
