A process for decorative product production which comprises subjecting a rugged surface of a molded carbon-fiber-reinforced resin to ink-jet printing to thereby obtain a smooth printed surface.By ink-jet printing using an actinic-ray-curable ink, an uncured rough ink layer (31) is formed on a rugged surface (17) to be decorated. A temporary covering film (41) is put on the upper surface of the uncured rough ink layer (31). Pressing force is imposed on the uncured rough ink layer (31) from above the temporary covering film (41) to smooth the surface of the uncured rough ink layer (31). The uncured rough ink layer (31) is irradiated with actinic rays (66) and converted to a cured smooth ink layer (61), and the temporary covering film (41) is stripped off.
