Disclosed are a non-volatile memory chip for reinforcing security using a certification, and a data security method using the same. The non-volatile memory chip for reinforcing security using a certification includes: a challenger register for saving random values generated by a processor; a certification code register for saving a message certification code generated by using the random values of the processor and password of an initial user; a certification register for saving a certification success value, which allows access to the data stored in the non-volatile memory chip; and a temporary register for saving a message recertification code generated by a recertification request. When a recertification request exists, based on the accordance between the message certification code and message re-certification code, the access to the data stored in the non-volatile memory chip is determined. Therefore, the security of data in the non-volatile memory chip can be enhanced to the security level of a volatile memory chip.
