Provided are: an electrode active material for a magnesium battery comprising hydrated manganese-based composite oxide of a laminated nanosheet structure represented by chemical formula 1; an electrode comprising the same and a magnesium battery; and a producing method of the electrode active material for the magnesium battery. The electrode active material for the magnesium battery has improved capacity, improved charge and discharge voltage and improved lifespan properties. In the chemical formula 1, x, y, z, M, and MI are the same as defined in the specification.
