The present invention relates to a method for producing a nanocellulose-based composite comprising a nanocellulose film whose surface is modified with a hydrophilic polymer, and metal nanoparticles distributed on the surface of the nanocellulose film. The method comprises the steps of: (a) mixing nanocellulose, an urea compound and an organic solvent; (b) introducing a hydrophilic polymer to the nanocellulose; (c) processing the nanocellulose into a film shape; and (d) forming metal nanoparticles on the nanocellulose film. According to the method, it is possible to produce a nanocellulose-based composite in a very simple manner, to control the porosity through the hydrophilic polymer, and thus to form metal nanoparticles with high dispersibility.
