The present invention provides a composition including a Bacillus mojavensis KJS-3 (donation number: KCCM 10961P) strain or a cultured material thereof as an active ingredient so as to promote the growth of a plant and reduce the mortality of the plant. Moreover, the present invention provides a method for promoting the growth of a plant and preventing the mortality of the plant by making Bacillus mojavensis KJS-3 have root-endophytic properties in the root of the plant. Accordingly, the growth of a plant may be promoted, and the mortality of the plant may be reduced.
