The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for assessing the efficacy of a drug based on a network. The method for assessing the efficacy of a drug based on a network comprises the steps of: calculating the degree of association between a drug and a disease by at least one among inference based on drug adjacency or disease adjacency and inference based on a distance between a gene module and the disease; generating a classifier which determines whether the drug is associated with the disease by using a learning technique which uses the association degree as a feature; and determining whether the drug is associated with the disease by using the classifier. The method of the present invention can accurately and sensitively discover the new efficacy of the drug and reduce time and cost for the development of a new drug by searching for a drug-disease relation in which the drug can exert its efficacy based on a network constructed based on a protein interaction database and a protein-gene association database and assessing the molecular reaction of the drug.
