The present invention relates to a pharmacological composition comprising telmisartan potassium, which is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and a preparation method thereof. According to the prevent invention, preparation methods of a granular or powdered solid formulation with improved safety factors and drug elution of telmisartan-containing formulations, and capsules and pills containing the same, can be provided. Also, the composition and the preparation method of the present invention are inventive in that, when preparing pure telmisartan alone, or in combination with diuretics or other antihypertensive components, using the preparation method of the present invention is far easier and greatly improves on the preparation time and cost, when compared to using pharmaceutical compositions comprising telmisartan and salts thereof. Since the size of a drug to be administered can be significantly reduced compared to conventional formulations, patient compliance with a long-term medication regimen can be improved. Further, the composition containing the telmisartan potassium significantly improves on the water-absorption problem of conventional formulations, and thus can stay stable in typical packaging materials.
