Provided are a method and system for determining gas concentration, a ship having the same, and a method for detecting sulfur content of fuel oil for a ship. The system for determining gas concentration, which is present in a gas passing through a pipe, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first tank connected to the pipe; a first pipe member installed between the pipe and the first tank to have a first valve; a compressed air supply part for supplying compressed air to the first tank; a second tank connected to the first tank; a second pipe member installed between the first tank and the second tank to have a second valve; a third pipe member having one end connected to the second tank and the other end connected to atmosphere; and a sensor for determining gas concentration and a third valve installed on the third pipe member. According to the present invention, the compressed air supply part is used to introduce exhaust gas flowing through an exhaust pipe into the first tank by means of pressure difference without a separate blower. In addition, the introduced exhaust gas can be diluted to make the concentration properly in a measurement range of the sensor for determining gas concentration by injecting compressed gas, thereby enabling a user to determine concentration of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Furthermore, based on the measured value, sulfur content of fuel oil for a ship can be detected.
