In response to determining to use the CoMP transmission, the anchor access node will add at least one access node of the plurality of access nodes in the candidate list CoMP. The anchor access node sends a request to start a CoMP transmission to at least one access node of the plurality of access nodes. In response to receiving the plurality of access nodes at least one acknowledgment signal from the access node of the second access node is added to the cooperative CoMP set. ;
