Certain aspects of the present invention are directed to devices and methods for managing signaling radio bearer (SRB) transmissions. In an aspect, the apparatuses and methods generate an SRB packet that includes signaling information, and the SRB packet is configured to be transmitted on a channel in accordance with a scheduling serving grant, wherein the SRB packet is configured to be transmitted on a channel based on resources allocated by the received scheduling serving grant In response to determining that the SRB packet can not be transmitted and determining that the SRB packet can not be transmitted, overrides the received scheduling serving grant and is configured to transmit at least a portion of the SRB packet on the channel. In another aspect, a scheduling information message for indicating that an additional scheduling serving grant is needed is transmitted on the channel along with at least a portion of the SRB packet.
