A squirrel-cage rotor (1) for an asynchronous electrical machine is proposed, which has a plate pack (7) of a multiplicity of laminations (5) stacked next to one another in the axial direction and a short-circuiting cage (9), shorting bars (11) of the short-circuit cage (9 ) extend in the axial direction through the disk set (7) and in each case by a short-circuit ring (13) at end faces of the disk set (7) are interconnected. The squirrel-cage rotor is characterized in that axially between one of the short-circuit rings (13) and an adjacent axially outermost of the laminations (5) a support disk (17) is arranged which is formed in a central region (18) parallel to the laminations (5) and which in an area near the edge (19) axially bent away from the disk pack (7). Such bent on the edge support plate (17) may be mechanically stable due to their material or thickness than the short-circuit ring (13) and this stabilize, for example, against strong centrifugal forces.
