The present invention relates to a method for coating ferromagnetic material particles with a NiZn type ferrite layer. This method comprises: - the supply of particles of ferromagnetic material; activation of the surface of the particles of ferromagnetic material; coating the particles of ferromagnetic material with ferrite precursors; and recovering the particles of ferromagnetic material thus coated. The method may further include forming an intermediate layer of silica on the surface of the particles prior to coating. The present invention also relates to particles obtainable by this method, a method of manufacturing a sintered article from these particles and the sintered article in question.
