SCLERAL DEPRESSOR FOR THREE-WAY VITRECTOMY TO INVENT THE SCLERY IN AUTONOMY

Scleral depressor for three-way vitrectomy. Device consisting of an indentation rod (1) which is mounted on a hollow cylinder (2) which is adapted to the distal phalanx of the annular or middle finger, such as a "thimble", characterized by a right indentation rod, whose major axis coincides with the major axis of the cylinder and the distal phalanx, whose length is about 2 to 3 cm, and whose distal end is rounded. The characteristics of this scleral depressor allow the surgeon to perform scleral indentation himself while using the endocrine vitreotome and endolumiere during a so-called "three-way" vitrectomy. The surgeon can therefore perform a peripheral vitrectomy or a photocoagulation by endolaser of the retinal periphery in perfect autonomy.
