PROPULSION NOZZLE FOR THE EXPANSION OF A SUPERSONIC GAS JET

The nozzle (21) has a skirt (27) in which a gas jet (25) is released before being ejected towards a surrounding medium (55) outside the skirt along an axis (X) of the nozzle. A channel (29) conveys fluid close to its free end (32). A collection unit formed of chute (33) and walls, collects the fluid e.g. hydrogen, around the skirt. A channel (29) emerges in the unit. Discharge unit formed of circumferential deflecting wall (41), half-cup (47), expansion chamber and inlet, discharges the collected fluid in the form of supersonic fluid flow (57) accelerated along a direction following the axis.
