PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation transfer function (MTF) calculation device for reducing variations in MTF evaluation.SOLUTION: An MTF calculation device 1 includes: a derivative area extraction part 31; a first calculation part 32; a determination part 33; and a second calculation part 34. The derivative area extraction part 31 acquires a small area being an image area extracted from a base image and an image area including a reference pixel, and causes the acquired small area to move to the base image in a range where the reference pixel is not projected out of the small area to extract a plurality of derivative areas being a plurality of image areas including the reference pixel from the base image. The first calculation part 32 calculates each edge profile of an image of the small area and an image of each of the plurality of derivative areas, and the determination part 33 determines whether or not each edge profile calculated by the first calculation part 32 is suitable for the calculation of an MFT. The second calculation part 34 calculates the MTF of the edge profile determined to be suitable by the determination part 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
