PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive porous body that has a large surface area and is excellent in handleability because it is hardly damaged by bending, a method of manufacturing the same and a solid polymer type fuel battery using the conductive porous body.SOLUTION: A conductive porous body includes a fibrous material having first conductive materials and a second conductive material connecting between the first conductive materials. The conductive porous body has a specific surface area of 100 m/g or more, a bending strength of 10 MPa or more, and a bending deflection of 1 mm or more. Further, a solid polymer type fuel batter has the conductive porous body as a base material for a gas diffusion electrode. The conductive porous body can be manufactured by forming a precursor fibrous porous body including a first precursor fiber obtained by spinning first spinning liquid containing the first conductive material and a first carbonizable organic material, and a second precursor fiber obtained by spinning second spinning liquid containing a second carbonizable organic material, and then carbonizing the first carbonizable organic material to form the second conductive material and also carbonizing the second carbonizable organic material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
