PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for predicting the therapeutic effect of the agent to autism spectrum disorder, before treatment starts.SOLUTION: An allele profile of rs2268490 of a subject is confirmed. Specifically, the invention comprises: 1) a step of extracting nucleic acid from a sample obtained from a subject; and 2) a step of confirming the allele profile of rs2268490 for the extracted nucleic acid. By containing no cytosine (C) in the allele profile of rs2268490, a therapeutic effect by drug administration, specifically oxytocin (OXT) administration in autism spectrum disorder can be predicted, and an effective and safe therapeutic strategy can be provided before treatment starts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
