PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tooth number specification device and a tooth number specification method for a speed-increasing gear for a wind turbine having vague engineering items for a gear in which the tooth number of a gear constituting a speed-increasing gear for a wind turbine effective for a diagnosis of abnormal state of the gear can be specified.SOLUTION: A planetary gear tooth number specification means 46 specifies a tooth number of the planetary gear device having the largest speed ratio under application of a tooth number conditional expression in reference to a specified engagement frequency of a planetary gear.
