PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to impose a high AC voltage and suppress upsizing in order to diagnose insulation deterioration of a power cable.SOLUTION: The insulation deterioration diagnosis method of a power cable 101 includes a charge accumulation step for imposing an AC voltage onto the insulator of the power cable to accumulate charges therein and an accumulated charge detection step for detecting the DC component of a current that flows when charges accumulated in the insulator are discharged. The AC voltage imposed onto the insulator of the power cable 101 is generated while the AC voltage of a first frequency and the AC voltage of a second frequency that is lower than the first frequency are superposed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
