System and method for proposing a creative type for an online content item to an advertiser

A computer-implemented method is provided for generating creative type suggestions for online content providers. The method employs a computing device that includes a processor and a memory. The method includes training the first model with historical information including one or more of (i) online advertisement serving performance and (ii) advertiser information. The method also includes calculating a tentative creative type using at least the first model. The method further includes modifying the provisional creative type proposal based at least in part on past proposal performance to generate a final creative type proposal. The method also includes presenting a final creative type proposal to the online content provider.
