PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering lead from a lead-containing glass, the method not requiring heating of the lead-containing glass such as an optical lens and a cathode ray tube containing lead to high temperature and enabling lead to be easily recovered without discharging steam of lead oxide to the outside of a system.SOLUTION: The method of recovering lead from a lead-containing glass includes: melting the lead-containing glass in a closed system in the presence of a glass melting agent to a temperature of 900 to 1,100°C; contacting carbon monoxide gas with the resulting molten product of the lead-containing glass; and recovering lead which is deposited in the molten material of the lead-containing glass.
