PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering lead from lead-containing glass capable of easily recovering lead without heating a lead-containing glass in an optical lens, a cathode-ray tube or the like and without exhausting the vapor of lead oxide to the outside of the system.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for recovering lead from a lead-containing glass within a closed system where a substance generating carbon monoxide is charged into a heat-resistant container A, a heat-resistant container B is prepared separately from the heat-resistant container A, a lead-containing glass and a glass melting agent are charged into the heat-resistant container B, thereafter, the heat-resistant container B is charged to the heat-resistant container (A), in a state where the opening part of the heat-resistant container A is sealed, the heat-resistant container A is heated in such a manner that the lead-containing glass is heated at 900 to 1,100°C in the presence of the glass melting agent to melt the lead-containing glass, and the obtained melt of the lead-containing glass is contacted with a carbon monoxide gas generated from the substance generating the carbon monoxide to recover lead precipitated in the melt of the lead-containing glass.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
