PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method of a round ingot made of titanium or a titanium alloy where a plasma arc is a heat source to the surface of a molten metal and proper heat input to the surface of the molten metal corresponding to various ingot sizes is clarified.SOLUTION: In a continuous casting method of a round ingot where the surface of a molten metal melted with titanium or a titanium alloy is heated by using at least one plasma torch, equation (1): 0.0006D+0.2D-90≤n α Q≤0.0015D-0.8D+470, where, Q is the output (kW) of the plasma torch; n is a number of the plasma torch; α is the heat input efficiency of the plasma torch; and D is the diameter (mm) of the casting round ingot, is satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
