PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared-ray detection device that attains higher sensitivity than before by making a relation of a detail position relation of each member with detection sensitivity clear.SOLUTION: The infrared-ray detection device detecting presence/absence of a detection object 6 on the basis of a signal detected by an infrared-ray detection part 100 outputting a signal in accordance with an amount of an infrared-ray to be incident, the infrared-ray detection part 100 has a plurality of infrared-ray sensors 1 and 2 capable of detecting an absolute value of the amount of the infrared-ray to be incident, and each of detection ranges A and B to be set to the plurality of infrared-ray sensors 1 and 2 satisfies a condition under which respective virtual outer periphery lines 4 and 5 of each of virtual projection planes 1 and 2 projected on a virtual plane surface 13 facing the infrared-ray detection part 100 with the virtual plane surface deemed to be each of the detection ranges A and B do not match. Furthermore, a center of gravity Q meaning an intermediate point of a virtual line segment C connecting center portions C1 and C2 of each single width L in a juxtaposing direction of the first and second infrared-ray sensors 1 and 2, and a center of an infrared-ray transmission part 24 do not match.
