Shot peening shot material having high hardness and long life

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardly broken high-hardness long-life projection material capable of applying high compressive residual stress onto a surface of a material to be treated by shot-peening.SOLUTION: A projection material for shot-peening having high hardness and a long life contains 1.0-3.0% C, and 15.0-35.0% total of one or two or more kinds of Cr, Mo, W and V in terms of mass%, and a residue comprising Fe and inevitable impurities, and has Vickers hardness of 950-1,200 HV, and does not have substantially a crack generated inside.
