PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device of a vibration hammer capable of holding a steel pipe by exerting pressing force only from inside of the steel pipe, along with an installation method of a steel pipe pile using the same.;SOLUTION: A holding device of a vibration hammer VH is for holding a steel pipe P by exerting pressing force on an inner surface of the steel pipe P, and includes a pressing rubber part 22 at a location that would not cause deformation or buckling of the steel pipe due to the pressing force, the pressing rubber part exerting the pressing force on the inner surface of the steel pipe by being elastically deformed by air. The pressing rubber part is of a double structure of an inner hollow rubber tube 22a and an outer solid rubber band 22b, or of a single structure of either the inner rubber tube or the outer rubber band. One or a plurality of chuck units is provided, having vibromotive force of the vibration hammer conveyed from above and being connected in a vertical direction. An enclosure 21 of the chuck unit includes a cylindrical body part 21A.
