An led based illumination module (100) mounting interface comprising: a mounting collar including an elastic member, wherein the mounting collar is operable to capture an led based illumination module by a movement of the mounting collar relative to a light fixture, and wherein the movement deforms the elastic member and generates a compressive force between the led based illumination module and the light fixture.
