Summary “Multilayer film prepared from high impact resistance polyethylene and low pressure, high density ziegler natta catalyzed polyethylene blends” is a multilayer film prepared from high impact resistance polyethylene (polyethylene hi); a ziegler natta catalyst polyethylene (z / n polyethylene) and a low density, high pressure polyethylene (polyethylene 1d) with the requirements that i) at least one outer layer consist essentially of polyethylene hi and ii) at least one core layer comprises a polyethylene z / ne said polyethylene ld blend. hi polyethylene has a density of about 0.915 to 0.930 g / cc and a standardized impact resistance of at least 300 g / thousand. the amount of hi polyethylene is 30 to 55% by weight (based on the combined weights of the hi + zn + 1d polyethylenes). The films of this invention are readily prepared on blown film equipment and provide an excellent balance of mechanical properties.
