A method and apparatus for the determination of the hydrostatic pressure in a fluid mass

The invention relates to a device and method for determining the hydrostatic pressure in a solid/liquid mixture. The device comprises a housing, a permeable part of which is permeable to the liquid, and which further comprises a liquid chamber connecting to the permeable part and a pressure sensor connecting via a closing element to the liquid chamber; wherein the liquid chamber comprises an inlet for a flushing liquid and the permeable part is also permeable to the flushing liquid. The hydrostatic pressure can be determined in accurate manner using the invented device. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining information about a mass of settled solid in a solid/liquid mixture in a basin by making use of the device.
