The present invention relates to a method for converting high-boiling hydrocarbon feedstocks to more lightly boiling hydrocarbon products, said easier boiling hydrocarbon products being suitable as a raw material for petrochemical processes, said conversion method comprising the following steps: supplying heavy hydrocarbon feedstock to a hydrocracking unit; cracking of the specified raw materials in the hydrocracking unit; dividing said cracked feedstock into a head stream containing a low-boiling hydrocarbon fraction, and a bottom stream containing a heavy hydrocarbon fraction; feeding the specified bottoms stream of such a hydrocracking unit as a raw material for the subsequent hydrocracking unit in the specified cascade of hydrocracking units (unit), and the technological conditions in each hydrocracking unit (s) differ from each other, and the hydrocracking conditions are from the first to the subsequent unit hydrocracking changes from least severe to most severe; and processing lighter hydrocarbon fractions from each hydrocracking unit (s) as a feedstock for the BTK and LPG production unit.
