The present invention relates to the use of microfluidics technology based on acoustocapillary and asymmetric capillary flow for separation of plasma from whole or diluted blood, which would enable realization of a lab on chip diagnostic platform. The said device consists of an inlet, plasma separation module, a detection module, and outlet/outlets. When sample blood is introduced at the device inlet, which enters the device due to capillary action. In the plasma separation module, the plasma gets separated either using (a) acoustophoresis or (b) asymmetric capillary flow. Subsequently, the separated plasma enters the detection module and finally leaves at the outlet.
