A hybrid metal matrix composite with the pre-determined wear resistance for use in automobile friction materials comprises a combination of at least one aluminium alloy fused with at least three reinforcement materials through stir casting process. The metal matrix composition as disclosed wherein the said at least one aluminium alloy comprises aluminium ADC12 alloy or aluminium LM6 alloy and the said at least three reinforcement materials comprises silicon carbide, zirconium silicate and molybdenum disulphide. The method for the manufacture of the metal matrix composition with the predetermined wear resistance for use in automobile friction materials comprises the steps of preparing the said aluminium alloy ingot for the desired shape and weight, super heating the said alloy to a temperature of 900 - 1000 degrees celcius for a period of 90 minutes, obtaining the molten state of the said aluminium alloy, releasing the dissolved gases from the said molten solution resulting in surface imperfection and metallurgical defects, pre heating the said pre-determined quantity of the said three reinforcement materials at 500 degrees celcius for a period of 60 minutes, introducing the pre heated reinforcement materials to the said molten aluminium alloy solution, continuously stirring the said combination of the aluminium alloy solution with the said three reinforcement materials at 300 rotations per minute for a period of 5 minutes, preparing the .die by abrasive sheets and acetone, introducing the molten matrix material composition to the processed die and finally obtaining the requisite metal matrix composition with the predetermined wear resistance for use in automobile friction materials.
