ISOLATED ANALGESIC PROTEIN FROM THE TRACHYCEPHALOUS VENULOSUS FROG SECRETION.

The present disclosure is related to a novel peptide designated as Tv7 (SEQ ID NO: 1) with analgesic activity, tested in male CD-1 strain mice. This peptide comprises 59 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 6,509.1 Daltons. The same is isolated and purified from secretions of the Trachycephalous venulosus frog. Said peptide can also be obtained by other means such as the chemical synthesis, or by the recombinant DNA technique, also providing the coding nucleotide sequence. The Tv7 (SEQ ID NO: 1) peptide has an alpha / beta folded secondary structure and two disulfide bridges.
