The present invention relates to a process for obtaining an orange peel pectin and its application as an arsenic bio adhesive, wherein the process comprises at least the steps of preparing and drying the pectin and an iron enrichment thereof to form an arsenic adsorbent. Additionally, it refers to a filter to remove arsenic from the water by means of an orange pectin elaborated adsorbent and enriched with iron.
