The present invention relates to a planter and method for planting bulbs, especially bulbs. The planter according to the invention comprises: a movable frame provided with a soil preparer adapted for preparing the soil for placing the bulbs therein; - a bulb supply system adapted for feeding the bulbs to be planted; - a first network supply system; a second network supply system cooperating with the first grid system, the first and second grid supply systems being configured such that the bulbs are located substantially between a subnet and an upper grid during cultivation; and - a ground-extinguishing system for ground-covering plowed bulbs, the planter being designed for working with a track width of at least 1.90 m.
