A process for preparing a direct filler material comprising: grinding a ceramic block infiltrated with resin to form a powder; coating said powder with a mixture of silane; mixing the powder with a curable resin to form a paste, whereby, when the resin is cured, a network of interconnected resin and ceramics is formed.
