Method for operation on the island of at least two wind turbines (102a-102i) associated with a wind farm (100), said wind farm being configured to provide the power generated by wind turbines in said wind farm to a main power grid (106 ), the method comprising: detecting at least two or more deactivated wind turbines in said wind farm, said deactivated wind turbines being disconnected from said main power network (106); configure at least one local electrical network (214) located on the island for the electrical connection of said two or more deactivated wind turbines; activate at least one of said deactivated wind turbines using an autogenous start operation; connecting said at least one activated wind turbine and at least one of said deactivated wind turbines to said local electrical network, said activated wind turbine acting as a power source for said at least one deactivated wind turbine connected to said local electrical network (214).
