HYDRAULIC FINE BLANKING HEAD FOR A PRESS AND METHOD OF ITS INFEED

A hydraulic fine blanking head for a mechanical pressand an infeeding method for same. The hydraulic fine blankinghead includes an adjusting mechanism having an adjusting nutprovided with an internal motion thread engaged with externalmotion threads on a main cylinder, the adjusting nut beingturnable around a stroke axis, a sprocket wheel rotatable ata frontal surface of the adjusting nut, a hydraulic motordriving the sprocket wheel, and a brake for the motor shaft.Axial backlash between the respective motion threads isprohibited by a pressure generated by a flow of pressurizedhydraulic fluid which also generates a part forming force inthe head. A conduit in communication with a hydraulic systemand the interior of the head delivers the locking pressure,locking the threads against the backlash. Removal of pressureunlocks the threads. Infeed of the main cylinder with regardto the ram is adjustable by switching the motor and the brakeon and off.
