The present invention relates to a β-alumina electrolyte for a sodium secondary battery, and a preparation method therefor and, more specifically, to: a β-alumina electrolyte for a sodium secondary battery, having dense particle precision, excellent strength and improved sodium ion conductivity by using a hot isostatic pressing method; and a preparation method therefor. The present invention prepares a sintered body by using the hot isostatic pressing method, thereby providing the β-alumina solid electrolyte forming a very dense structure having a high density, and thus the present invention can be utilized as a β-alumina solid electrolyte having more excellent physical properties.
