Provided are a method and a device for supplying inert gas into a poppet valve intermediate, in which no matter the size of the poppet valve intermediate, the intermediate can be accurately filled with inert gas without wasting the gas. After bringing an internal space (Win) of a poppet valve intermediate (W) to a negative pressure less than the surrounding ambient pressure (Pa) of the poppet valve intermediate (W) by suction, an inert gas is supplied to the internal space (Win) until the pressure (P) of the internal space (Win) reaches the surrounding ambient pressure (Ps) of the poppet valve intermediate (W).
