Provided is a treatment apparatus and method for softening desulfurization wastewater, comprising: a magnesium and heavy metal removal tank (1) provided with a first chemical dispensing pipeline; a primary sedimentation tank (3) connected to the magnesium and heavy metal removal tank (1), with a first sludge discharge pipeline (4) provided at the bottom of the primary sedimentation tank; a calcium removal and sedimentation tank assembly connected to the primary sedimentation tank (3), the calcium removal and sedimentation tank assembly comprises a primary calcium removal tank (5), a secondary calcium removal tank (7), and a secondary sedimentation tank (9), wherein the primary calcium removal tank (5) is provided with a second chemical dispensing pipeline (5) and the secondary calcium removal tank (7) is provided with a third chemical dispensing pipeline; a second sludge discharge pipeline (10) is provided at the bottom of the secondary sedimentation tank (9); and the secondary sedimentation tank is further provided with a water discharge pipeline connected to a neutralizing agent dispensing pipeline. Further provided is a method for softening desulfurization wastewater using the softening treatment apparatus to ensure that the desulfurization wastewater meets a requirement for RO and other membrane separation technologies. The method also greatly reduces operational and processing costs.
