SCREENING METHOD OF ANTICANCER AGENT FOCUSED ON FUNCTION OF HP1, AND EVALUATION SYSTEM

It has been discovered that interactions between HP1 and INCENP can serve as indicators of chromosome instability, and a method for evaluating chromosome instability of cancer cells has been established. Using this evaluation system makes it possible to perform screening of an anticancer agent with a novel concept of targeting chromosome instability of cancer cells. Furthermore, an antibody for specifically recognizing phosphorylation of HP1α serine 92, by which the activity of Aurora B can be evaluated, has been prepared. It is possible to simply evaluate the result of the interactions between HP1 and INCENP using this antibody.
