The present invention relates to a novel Xenorhabdus nematophila C2-3 strain having an insecticidal activity, a culture medium liquid of the strain, and a composition including the same as an active ingredient and repelling Lepidoptera harmful insects. The Xenorhabdus nematophila C2-3 strain or the culture medium liquid of the same have excellent insecticidal power with respect to Lepidoptera harmful insects, thereby being able to be useful as an environmentally-friendly formulation for repelling harmful insects and as a microbial chemical.
