The present invention relates to a method for preparing radio-responsive nanoparticles to which a radio-protectant is attached. The method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: carrying out covalent bonding between polyethylene glycol and a selenium compound to provide a selenium compound-polyethylene glycol conjugate; allowing a polymer compound to be bound with the conjugate to obtain a block copolymer of polyethylene glycol-selenium compound-polymer compound; and providing radio-responsive nanoparticles to which a radio-protectant is attached by using the block copolymer. The present invention also relates to radio-responsive nanoparticles to which a radio-protectant is attached obtained by the method. The radio-responsive nanoparticles to which a radio-protectant is attached according to the present invention prevents discharge of the radio-protectant in the absence of irradiation of radiation to prevent side effects to the human body, while allowing effective discharge of the radio-protectant in the presence of irradiation of radiation to protect tissues and cells from being exposed to radiation.
