The present invention relates to a method for absorbing carbon dioxide using sodium hydroxide and methanol, and more particularly, to a method of absorbing and storing carbon dioxide, which includes a step of injecting, absorbing, and immobilizing the carbon dioxide into a methanol solution in which sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is dissolved, thereby increasing the collection efficiency and the storage efficiency of the carbon dioxide. According to the present invention, in the method of absorbing the carbon dioxide, a significant amount of carbon dioxide can be physically absorbed, and the produced sodium methyl carbonate (SMC) can collect and store the carbon dioxide. According to the related art, the carbon dioxide may be doubly collected and stored, and thus the efficiency of the carbon dioxide can be improved. Further, in the method of absorbing and immobilizing carbon dioxide of the present invention, an organic material harmful to the environment is not used, and most of the carbonates formed on the methanol are precipitated, so that the carbonates can be easily separated by filtration. As the filtration solution is distilled so that the carbon dioxide is degassed, the methanol can be recovered and reused.
