Method and kit for diagnosis of tuberculosis based on Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigen-specific antibody reaction

Disclosed are a method and a kit for distinguishing active, dormant, or recurrent tuberculosis by using a specimens reaction specific to the combination of antigens selected from 38 kDa, 16 kDa, ESAT-6, CFP-10, and LAM antigens. Specifically, disclosed are a method and a kit for diagnosing or detecting whether a specimen negatively identified from a sputum smear test has active tuberculosis. The method or the kit according to the present invention can diagnose whether a specimen identified to be sputum smear negative, which is hard to diagnose with a conventional method, has active tuberculosis, dormant tuberculosis, or recurrent tuberculosis with high selectivity and specificity. Thus, the method or the kit can rapidly differentiate tuberculosis independently or with a conventional smear test.
