According to the present invention, provided are a filter cartridge which has a water inlet and a water outlet and contains a multi-layer hybrid filter member, and also provided is a composite filter for a water purifier, which includes a multi-layer hybrid filter member installed in the filter cartridge so that water entering through the water inlet can flow in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which layers are stacked and can be drained through the water outlet. The above-described hybrid filter member is a sediment-carbon hybrid filter member or a sediment-membrane hybrid filter member. The above-described hybrid filter member has a multi-layer structure in which an anti-bacterial sediment filter member and a carbon filter member or membrane filter members are alternately stacked on top of another. The above-described anti-bacterial sediment filter member is woven fabric or non-woven fabric made of polymer resin containing low-solubility, low-elution silver-based anti-bacterial particles, and has pores ranging from 1 to 100 microns. The composite filter for a water purifier according to the present invention has a very small size, high performance and an anti-bacterial characteristic. The proliferation of bacteria and the formation of a biological membrane can be prevented throughout an overall water purification system including the composite filter and the following filters and units. Although the composite filter for a water purifier contains a high silver content, the level of elution of silver can be reduced to a ppb level or less, and thus a criterion for silver in drinking water can be satisfied, thus being actually applied to a domestic water purifier.
