POWER STATE COVERAGE METRIC AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE SAME

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for estimating an entire power state coverage of an electronic system level (ESL) model performed by at least one processor. According to the method, a first value and a second value are set to each block. At least one verification case is selected with respect to each block of the ESL module. With respect to each of at least one verification case, (a) a target coverage value is set, (b) resister transfer level ( RTL) simulation is performed, (c) an actual coverage value is received, and (d) a first value or a second value are updated based on whether the actual coverage value is less than a target coverage value. A power state coverage is calculated with respect to each block. An entire power state coverage is calculated with respect to the ESL model.
